Davis Learning Strategies
DAVIS LEARNING STRATEGIES FOR USA & CANADA MAY 6TH & 7TH * ONLINE -
Davis Learning Strategies:
*are a complete package comprised of Self Regulation Tools, Alphabet Mastery, Reading Skills and Word Mastery
*are easy to learn in 2 days by the classroom teacher
*reach all the children in the class regardless of learning style
*level the playing field between the linear sequential sound based learner (who typically does well in our current education system) and the visual spatial image based learner (who typically gets labelled learning disabled).
*provide an equal cognitive opportunity for all children
*are cost effective, negating the need for the current level of special education staff
Prevention is part of our Mission and Vision for The WDS. We've seen the results of implementing Davis Learning Strategies in K-3 classrooms. It works!! Please visit our website for information, testimonials, and a video explaining DLS. https://www.thewds.org/prevention

Learning Ally's Spotlight on Dyslexia
Sue was extremely excited to be presenting a session at the Learning Ally’s Virtual Conference – Spotlight on Dyslexia, June 5, 2020. She had no idea it was a worldwide audience, over 9,000 people registered. The organisation has permission to scan any book and attach an audio recording to it, and apparently they had requests for Fish Don’t Climb Trees to be recorded. They give audio books to their learning challenged members for free along with a scanned version of the text, with a highlighter that shows you where you are.
Her session will be available on-demand session through September 30, 2020 to earn up to 16 CE Certificates. Click here to register

Fish Don't Climb Trees: A Whole New Look at Learning Challenges – with Sue Hall, author of Fish Don’t Climb Trees. Sue's aim was to shed light on the 'gift' that leads to both learning challenges and talents. She provided the theory to help understand and overcome learning challenges and a hands-on experience with one of the components. Fish Don’t Climb Trees is based on her personal experience with dyslexia, that of her son, and her clients. The literacy providers were a wonderful audience, so receptive and engaged. Thank you for this experience.
