PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP

WE ARE IMMENSELY grateful to 100 Women Who Care for their generous donation towards our Program Sponsorship Program. We had a growing waitlist of families applying for financial assistance for their much needed Davis Method Programs.

“Learning challenges do not always arise at financially convenient times… we hear from single parents, maybe on disability, maybe with more than one child needing help outside the public school system… and because we are in the private sector, we are often a last resort… by the time we hear from them, the children are convinced they are stupid… it’s heart breaking.~Sue Blyth Hall, Davis Facilitator, Founder of The WDS.

We will be able to help 7 individuals with their generous donation; 7 individuals who will flourish and thrive instead of struggle and experience defeat.

From Gisa Straith, WDS Director, at the North Shore 100 Women Who Care, Dec 4, 2023.

“Sue’s video presentation was fabulous and received a resounding ovation from all the ladies who attended tonight.  I was asked to answer any questions thereafter and the question period lasted at least 10 more minutes! In any case, there was so much interest in our Society and the direction we are taking. I was thrilled to receive the honorary cheque on behalf of the Society.” ~Gisa

Thanks to our sponsors, from 2004 to January, 2024, we have provided $115,393.00 11 facilitators for 80 clients across Canada.

The Whole Dyslexic Society fundraises for program sponsorship to ensure that Davis programs are available to all regardless of income. Once a student has the tools, firm foundations and exercises to learn in the way he/she was born to learn, there is a far better chance of feeling NeuroInclusive as we wait for the necessary changes in the education system.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO ! A heartfelt thank you to Norman for allowing us to publish his videos.

AND… from Norman’s Facilitator: “Watching Norman over the past 8 days has been a lifetime event for me.  Norman continued to maintain a consistent energy level throughout, he started each day with such gratitude for what he was learning, it was contagious; he began each new activity like it was a gift he never thought he would receive; he embraced and shared things from his past, identifying stories in his mind that were linked to false beliefs. Norman's transformation throughout his Davis program was nothing less than remarkable.  Thank you all for your support, I am sure Norman's results will be a blessing to many generations to come.”

The Whole Dyslexic Society believes that individuals with dyslexia and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder should have causal correction methods available to them regardless of income and will provide program sponsorship for Davis® programs: Davis® Mastery for Dyslexia, Davis® Mastery for Math, Davis® Foundations for Reading, Davis® Mastery for Attention, Davis® Stepping Stones (www.dyslexia.com), plus the Davis Autism Approach® and Davis Concepts for Life®, Davis Concepts for Life® - Early Years (https://www.rdautismfoundation.org/).

We have many enquiries from families on low incomes, single parents, often with no financial support system, who have heard about our programs and are not able to afford them. We have enquiries from young people who have dropped out of school and do not wish to become unemployable. Following the hardships of the past few years, the need is even greater now.

Therefore, at this moment in time, we are asking independent individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations to donate to our program sponsorship fund. We thank you for considering a donation, or for sending us a suggestion for a grant application, or service organisation to contact.

All Canadian Davis Facilitators can apply on behalf of a potential client. The program funding will never be complete; there has to be some input by the individual and/or their family.

THE CAROL FORD MEMORIAL BURSARY

As of 2022, we are delighted to announce that each year a very special sponsorship will be awarded in memory of Carol Ford, a Davis Facilitator who was passionate in her support of our objectives.

THE PATHFINDER YOUTH CENTRE SOCIETY

Sue has given 5 presentations to The Pathfinder Youth Centre Society. Each time there are more than a dozen young people who are the best audience ever!

School has not been their best experience and for them, it is such a relief to find out that there is nothing wrong with them, it was just the system than let them down.

We need more program sponsorship funding to be able to help them !!!

Here is an email that came my way after a presentation. (This is obviously unacceptable, but I also object to the trades being this second class occupation… they are so skilled and so vital to all of us!)

“Smart kid, didn't start speaking until I was 3, but started speaking in full sentences almost immediately, went to school and immediately did poorly. Didn't learn how to read until I was in the second grade, but the minute I learned to read I was reading at a 3rd or 4th grade level. I have vivid memories of getting handed math pop quizzes in the 3rd grade, looking down at the sheet of paper not being able to grasp what I was looking at, and breaking down into tears. I nearly flunked out of elementary school if it had not been for my teacher's collectively having pity on me and passing me on in hopes the next teacher would figure me out. Ended up coasting through grades 8-11 on a C- average, leaning heavily on great recollection for testing, and a knack for colourful language in essays. All A's in PE, Guitar, Band, Theatre, but anything else was rubbish.   … the Principal and Vice Principal sat me down and told me I was "unfit for education" and should "get an early start on a trades career." “

Thank you Sue, People like you remind me that humanity can be extraordinarily kind at times.

N: N offered her entire bank account which has $200 from birthday money savings and we decided that she would contribute half. I feel that her making the $100 contribution herself is a great idea and shows her dedication. It was entirely her own idea to offer this, and I am so proud of her.

One Week After The Program

M: First off I want to say an amazing thank you. You have given R and our entire family an amazing gift. I do feel that we were touched by angels when we were guided to you and your wonderful work.

The doubts that I had about his engagement immediately disappeared! He spoke at great length about all aspects of the program: Orientation, Release, his Dial, Sweep Spell, Trigger Words and of course the clay. He was telling all about the clay models that he had made and their meanings etc. Then he recited the alphabet backwards - something that he is very proud of and does quite regularly now!

I asked him tonight how he felt about his time with you. First off, he gave the two thumbs up sign. "I love to read now." "I am not afraid to read anymore. I don't get nervous and I don't make very many mistakes.

Again, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This little boy's path changed this past week. R is going to do great things in his life and you have had a part in shaping that!

C got the latest chapter book in the Tree House collection by Andy  Griffiths.  He read that entire book last night and couldn't put it down till he was finished.  We tried to get him to go to sleep but he wouldn't put that book down!  Unbelievable!  I would have never believed he would ever fall in love with a book!
